Understanding that our lives move through different seasons can help us gain a new perspective on our current struggles

In a divisive and ugly political climate the temptation is to pull back and check out...but I hope that Christians pray and pray and pray some more and then vote on election day as God leads them.

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.(Colossians 1:13-14 ESV)

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are ABOVE, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are ABOVE, not on things that are on earth. (Colossians 3:1-2 ESV)

As Christians, we recognize that we have received the greatest gift anyone could ever receive...so the natural result is a desire to give and be generous. God gave us His son to be born as a humble baby, live a sinless life, die on a cross bearing our sins, and rise again having defeated sin and death so that we could spend eternity with Him! We celebrate this incredible truth by being especially generous to one another at Christmas time. Here are some ways that you can participate in doing just that...

This is a video of some of the highlights of the Thanksgiving dinner in Kensington that Riverside Community Church provided in partnership with Tioga Christian Church. Along with providing a hot meal and a worship service we also sent over 60 families home with frozen turkeys and all of the sides needed to make their own meal at home. Thanks to everyone who donated, volunteered & prayed for this event!

Many Christians live with a truncated view of the gospel. We see the gospel as the "door", the way in, the entrance point into God's kingdom. But the gospel is so much more! It is not just the door, but the path we are to walk every day of the Christian life. It is not just the means of our salvation, but the means of our transformation. It is not simply deliverance from sin's penalty, but release from sin's power. The gospel is what makes us right with God (justification) and it also frees us to delight in God (sanctification). The gospel changes everything!

We'll be debuting a new song at the worship service this Sunday called "Your Love Never Fails". I wanted to give you a chance to hear it ahead of time so that we can move right past the "this is new" adjustment phase and straight into the "let's worship our Savior" phase.

It almost seems too simple...but the way that Jesus is going to use us to change our world is by making one disciple at a time.

A big thank you to those who so often go unthanked.
