Riverside Community Church began in the summer of 1999 when Aaron Harvie and his wife, Alison moved to the Philadelphia area from Louisville, Kentucky, to plant a church. Riverside's first preview service was on April 9th, 2000 in the Regal 22 Cinema in Warrington. About 100 people came, and the church hasn't gone under 100 ever since - truly a miracle! Riverside would continue to meet in the Regal theater for the next 13 years. In that time, God's grace was on the church and He used Riverside to plant three other churches in the greater Philadelphia area. In November of 2013, Riverside came across an opportunity to acquire a building of it's own at it's current 239 Columbia Avenue location in Horsham. Riverside continues to grow it's area of influence, not just geographically, but more importantly in the hearts of people. And we truly believe that the best is yet to come!
The identity of any church is shaped by a number of things. We believe that the most important thing is what a church believes about Jesus...who He is, what He has done, and how we should live in response to Him. This section of the website will help to answer those questions and it will also help to explain some of the other factors that make Riverside unique...our worship style, ministries, leadership, etc. Click on any of the links on the left side of this page to learn more.
