"Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit."
James 5:17-18 (ESV)

Elijah was one of the greatest prophets in the Bible.  He performed amazing miracles.  He boldly confronted the wicked King Ahab and his evil wife Jezebel.  We had a direct encounter with God.  Yet, he was also discouraged, weary, and depressed.  He felt the weight of following the Lord.  In the book of James we are reminded that Elijah was a man with a nature like ours.  Those verses invite us to look to the life of Elijah as a model for our own walk with God.  As we walk through the Biblical account of the life of ELijah we'll take an honest look at the highs and lows, the joys and the challenges, the faith and the fear of a life lived in obedience to God in a broken world.

Join us we begin a new study in the book of 1 Kings on the life of the prophet Elijah.
