Do you ever feel overwhelmed by life? Like so much is going on and you somehow lost the joy and happiness you used to feel? Or has it been so long that you forget that feeling? Are you numb? Feel like your sinking?

Today I was reminded that the pain we feel is not for nothing.
It is difficult to find purpose in the discomforts, the unhappiness, and the pain. As humans, we just want to know the answers. Why is this happening? How is this growing me? What is it preparing me for? How much longer?

BUT quite honestly, it is not our job to know.
Everything that we experience in our life is meant to bring us to good and ultimately, to give God all the glory. Let Him use your life to write His story. It is much better than what we have planned for ourselves.

When we feel like we are drowning, like we can’t do it anymore and want to give up, remember to breathe and find rest in Him. Jesus doesn’t want us to feel this way. He wants us to run to Him in these times and call out His name.

We can’t escape the storm, but we can count on Jesus to bring us through. We can trust that there is something greater waiting for us at the end of it all.
He will work it out.
He will carry us through.

So, exchange that sorrowful heart for a grateful one because He wouldn’t put you through it for nothing.

Romans 8:18 "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us."

Romans 8:38 "God works all things for good for those who are called according to his purpose."

Thank you, Jesus, for always giving me too much to handle because when I feel this way, I look to you. You are always right there to help. You take the weight off and allow me to feel free in the midst of it all. Thank you for preparing me. Even though I do not understand why, I know that there are greater things to come. I know that all of this pain that I feel is not for nothing. Let my life ultimately point to you. Write your story with my life. I ask and pray this in your name, Lord. Amen
