My family and I had the absolute pleasure of going to see the show “Jesus” at the Sight and Sound Theater in Lancaster over the holidays. It was this incredible blend of beautiful set design, wonderfully skilled actors and actresses-honestly just an amazing experience overall. But the most beautiful part of the entire show was that it is a true story! Unlike most plays that I’ve seen, this one is true, real, life altering, with the message of love, grace, forgiveness, rescue and eternal reward! The reality is that this “character” Jesus, is in fact not a “character” at all. He is real; He is alive; He desires to have a relationship with each one of us, including you!

Being a part of this experience reminded me how important it is for us to read the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to learn more about who the person of Jesus is. Why did Jesus come to live and then die for us? Our Savior, Jesus Christ, was sent by his Father, to be born, live and die in 33 short years on earth so that we could hear the message of salvation, repent of our sins and be saved-accepting Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. Once we accept Jesus, our lives are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and we are never, ever the same person again. “to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” (Ephesians 4:22-24 ESV)

When we accept Jesus as our Savior, will have eternal life with our Father in Heaven because of what Jesus did for us on the cross…let that sink in. Have you accepted the fact that we are all sinful people in need of rescue? Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Savior? Have you accepted Jesus as your Savior but do you struggle to acknowledge him as Lord of your life? “Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.’” (Psalms 16:1-2) NOW is the time… Repent and be saved! “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,” (Acts 3:19 ESV) Allow God to transform your heart completely. Surrender to His will that is perfect for your life. I encourage you to learn more about the person of Jesus so that you can fall deeply in love with him. Our God loves us so much and I pray that you experience this love for yourself! Please reach out to one of our pastors today and let them know that you want to learn more about our Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray that you accept the love that our Heavenly Father has for you and that you draw closer to Him in the days ahead.

Great message Bridget! You presented the Gospel message simply but clearly. Praying for all who have read or have yet to read this blog, that hearts would be challenged to seek after Jesus.
