Last night, I was at a concert in Nashville and one of the artists shared something so beautiful that I think is so important for us to remember. He told a story about a time he was driving in his car. He was feeling sad about himself, his life, and wasn’t sure why. In the middle of this unsettling and weary feeling, God put a message on his heart. “I’m not done yet”. Imagine you were working on something really special. You were really excited about it. Maybe it was a home project for fun or something at work. Imagine someone coming up to you halfway through and insulting your work. “Oof”. “You sure about that?" “Doesn’t look so good”. I would feel so frustrated.
Something you invested in for so long that simply isn’t done yet is getting critiqued. “But just wait until I’m done!!" That is how God feels when we look at ourselves, our lives, and become impatient or dissatisfied with His work so far. He is just not done yet. We are a work in progress. In HIS hands. I hope you put your trust in Jesus today and know He will carry out all of His promises. He won’t leave you unfinished. He won’t give up on you. Please don’t give up on Him. I pray patience over you. My hope and prayer is that this message encourages you as much as it did for me. I hope it brings you peace and comfort in your relationship with Jesus. And I hope it ultimately brings you closer to His heart. You were fearfully and wonderfully made by the hands of maker of the universe. He is in awe of you, His creation.
Psalm 139: 13-14. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
