This Easter season has me reflecting, more than ever, on what Jesus did for me and for you on the cross.  How Jesus’ life, death and resurrection impacts my life today.  I am overwhelmed by the image of Jesus in the Garden, “his sweat becoming like great drops of blood falling down to the ground” (Luke 22:44 ESV) as he pleaded with his Father in Heaven to remove this cup from him.  Jesus, knowing that death on the cross meant separation from his Father in Heaven in order to reunite man with God, bearing all of our sins, shame, and humiliation.  Wow-this brings me to tears just thinking about it! Jesus, the only sinless man to ever walk the earth, was about to face death on the cross for me, a sinner.  Just let that soak in for a minute…

What Jesus did on the cross and then his rising again, won the battle against sin forever and gave us the opportunity to be reunited with our Father in Heaven! Thank you Lord for your sacrifice-your death and your resurrection! Thank you Lord that we have the opportunity to confess our sins and receive salvation! Thank you Lord that you give us HOPE-hope in eternal life and being reunited with our Creator! So many things to be thankful for!

We need to be willing to receive Jesus into our lives and confess our sins and allow true transformation to happen in our lives and in our hearts. I pray today that you accept Jesus into your heart.  I pray that you allow him to transform you.  I pray that you allow Jesus to unite who you are in him with how you act in your everyday life, to draw others to him through you.

Lord, we are so grateful for your sacrifice on the cross. I pray that we never take granted what you did to save us. During this Easter Season as we reflect on all of these things, I pray for true repentance and heart transformation for all of us, recognizing that the blood you shed on the cross has so much power and significance. In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.
