He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1: 7-8

Read that again.

This was such an awesome reminder for me this morning that I don’t need to be stressed or feel anxious about my next steps.

It can be scary to not know what is on the other side of a decision, a graduation, an exam, a job, a relationship or whatever it may be for you.

But how comforting it is to know that God has fixed plans for you!

He knows what is on the other side and when it is time, he will send the Holy Spirit to us to help us and guide us, so that we may be his witnesses, showing those around us His light and glory.

It is so freeing to let go of the grip we hold so tightly over our lives and to allow Him to take control of what will happen next.

Through this time of waiting, it is so important to be patient and persistent in prayer. When we connect with Him and grow our relationship with Him, we can better connect with Him and hear His voice.

And when we are obedient to Him, He continues to bless us and challenge us.

I encourage you today if you are anxious or stressed out about the future, to take comfort in knowing that He will never abandon you.

He tells us in Deuteronomy 31:6,

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

He is so good, and He loves you so much.

If you need a reminder of that love, I urge you to look to the cross. He took our place and died a death that we deserve. He is the perfect example of what it looks like to die to ourself and live for God.

Choose to live for Him today and trust in His plan for you.
