The Bible has so much to say about love. Love is patient, kind, selfless,
sacrificial, unconditional, unfailing, and so much more. Jesus is the
perfect example of love.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever
believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16, ESV)
God loves us so much that he sacrificed his only son so that we may have
a never-ending life with him in heaven. He takes all our sin and washes it
away, forgiving us. He sees us for who we truly are, who he made us to
be.

Isn’t that the most perfect love? Isn’t that how we are called to love?
It is so easy to be selfish. Sometimes we do it without even realizing. We
do something to receive something in return. We hold the door for the
person walking in behind us, maybe to be nice, but if we don’t get a
thank you…rude, shouldn’t have held it for them.
How can we spread love to others around us, even by those little things?
We can start by allowing God to rule our hearts. He is love. Let love in
so much that you are overflowing and shining with his light. He will
show more and more in our actions, in our words, and even in the little
moments of our lives, the ones where we least expect.
When we set our eyes on God, flood our souls with His love, and
remember that He sent His only son to pay our debt through His death
on the cross, it should encourage us to love one another. When we
remember the crucifixion, we gain a deeper love for God, move closer to
Him, and share our love with others.

We love because he first loved us. (1 John 4:19)
