Life can be stressful. We have things to do! We need to take classes, go to work, take care of others, get to the gym, eat enough, sleep enough, clean, make time for friends and family, etc. We run ourselves dry trying to fit every little thing in our day and hold ourselves to the highest standards. When it doesn’t get done or it isn’t perfect, we end up disappointing ourselves. It’s overwhelming! I know I am so guilty of this.

More times than not, I try to do everything alone. I try to make every little thing perfect. I used to get caught up in trying to be that perfect Christian. I thought to myself I need to do this, this and this and I am good. When I mess up and sin, I beat myself up for it. I saw myself just as a sinner, not a Christian who sins.

I didn’t even realize I was doing it until someone made me aware. I know God was speaking to me through that person.

Life can be a crazy ride and our world today is speeding through it. We’ve lost our grip on what really matters and it is impossible to grab a hold alone. We simply aren’t strong enough.

BUT… He is!

There is hope in knowing that God loves us so much that he sent His one and only son to take the blame for all of our sin. He gave his life so that we may live with him forever. In his eyes, we are blameless, perfect, and loved.

Jesus is the reason we get to live freely! When we surrender our hearts to Him, we find the hope and strength to get through this life. We find rest. In that, we rejoice!!!

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

1 Peter 5:6-7
